Our server, Hannah, was excellent. Her knowledge of the food/menu items is extensive. She was attentive without being intrusive. Her excitement regarding the antelope dish convinced me to try something new. So pleased I did, it was amazing. So tender and full of flavor. We enjoyed the alligator appetizers. This is not fried alligator nuggets, thank heaven's! All three were amazing. The Mr. enjoyed his scallops as well. Full bar and decent wine list. Definitely look through the restaurant at the artwork.
My husband and I picked Savannah GA to celebrate our 19th Wedding Anniversary, and I made reservations at Alligator Soul, I will tell you, it was one of the most delicious meals we've ever had, and Bethany our server is such a wonderful young lady, very sweet, engaging and just has the warmest personalities. The sheep head fish was divine, and the Elk was delicious, too. The frog legs were the best we've ever had. I would recommend anyone visiting Savannah GA, dine at Alligator Soul!
The best saved for last. The dessert was seriously out of this world and loved every bite. Crab/alligator cakes were a bit dry and not the best. One of the scallops was pure ammonia but they made good on it and took it off. First time having kangaroo and loved it. The gumbo was amazing. If I could do it all over again, nix the scallops and crab/alligator cakes, and get the gumbo, dessert, and special. Service was really really good!

I do not believe a reservation is necessary. The establishment is very large and has two levels. The fried chicken was incredibly tasty. The batter mix was light, thin, and flavorful. I recommend trying the fried chicken with Texas Pete pepper sauce and chili. This will help to reduce the grease and make the fried chicken even more delicious. It also has one of the best Bloody Marys in Savannah. The service was fast and excellent.
I want to shine a light on Melissa (front hostess desk) hoping management reads this. She's incredibly kind, efficient, and welcoming. She was so kind to offer us a place to store our bikes so they wouldn't get stolen. The food was really good, we absolutely loved the fried chicken & collard greens. Mac & cheese was OK, broccoli casserole was good too. My only complaint is for the 2-person meal option, with 2 sweet teas....$75 after tip. The prices are really expensive for the type of food it is, not exotic at all. It's home cooking and family style service. For me, it's a one and done due to the cost. It's nothing overly special if you're already from the southern United States.
On a weekday we were able to walk right in and sit down. We ordered the fried chicken which was delicious, crispy and flavorful. Wasn't such a fan of the green beans, they were a little soggy. Every other dish was good. I really enjoyed shopping through the PD store and bought the Gooey Butter cake and biscuit mix with several other items. Overall, it was a fun experience.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. Food is a spin on classic dishes that knock it out of the park. We had the double wide dog, the sloppy Joe, patty melt and the shrimp and grits tacos. All were excellent. Everything except the tacos came with waffle fries and a lot of them. They were good but could have spent more time in the fryer. One of the few places that serve Natural Light too! Service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable for a touristy area. You should definitely make this a stop on your Savannah visit.
Absolutely love this place!! We stopped here for lunch while exploring downtown historic Savannah and it was excellent! We got the caprese sandwich and chicken biscuit. The waffle fries were super tasty!! The food is reasonably priced and the restaurant has a great atmosphere! Highly recommend!
We had a few locals recommend this place so we checked it out :). Service was great and as expected. This is a casual spot, great to unwind, have a drink and have some comfort food if that's what you're looking for. What to order: Appetizer: The cheese steak egg rolls were so good we came back just for another order the next day. I also got a to go order for my front desk concierge who recommended them! Must try. We also had the nachos on our second visit - the nachos have pieces of fried chicken in there (bonus). Mains: My wife ordered the Sloppy Joe, which if you're into sloppy joes you may enjoy however it's not my thing. The chicken pot pie burrito however, comfort food at its finest. It's unique and flavorful, EAT IT WITH YOUR HANDS! I was using a fork and knife at first and it wasn't the same as the last few bites when I decided to just go for it. Atmosphere: Like I said, super casual - if you're looking for an easy night out with some good comfort food, come here.

This is by far one of my favorite restaurants of all time! I feel like home every time we go. Fantastic service and food! A must-go when in Savannah. Asia makes it even better. She is the best server and so kind. She makes every visit so special. Also, the managers are always so kind and sweet.
Another outstanding dining experience at C&R. The service was amongst the best I have received at any restaurant I have dined at. Friendly, present and extremely knowledgeable all while not being intrusive. The food was amazing from start to finish from the charcuterie to the phenomenal wings, salad and entrees. Lets talk about the finish. Our server saw how quickly we demolished the desserts and the sad look on my face that it was all gone and the server appeared a couple of minutes later and dropped off another caramel peach tea ice cream dessert with a grin and a nod. This shows and incredible amount of experience from the ownership, management and floor staff to have such a nice touch be so easily executed. Well done team Cotton and Rye.
Excellent food. Visited July 2024. My steak was a perfect medium rare, nicely seasoned with some grilled tomatoes. The shrimp and grits side were sublime. My companions mushroom gumbo far exceeded our high expectations; nicely flavored and a hearty portion. The appetizer chicken wings were crispy with excellent flavor throughout. The prices are reasonable for the quality; our last visit was 7y ago, this place continues to be excellent. The reason it's not 5 stars is the covered patio area is quite loud and makes it tough to have a conversation with more than one other person.

Tastiest food with a view of the river! They have a few spots available to sit outside but we sit inside with the windows right to the river. We got a table for 2 right away at 6 pm. Jambalaya was huge and delicious, very authentic taste. The catfish was fried but not heavy. Very interesting coating. I wish the fish was a little bigger. I changed the side for a catfish to a salad and didn’t disappoint, it’s a high-quality ingredients salad. Beignets — OUTSTANDING. Fresh out of oven and please try their sauce it’s worth every penny - it is so cheap but makes the desert to a next level. It did take some time for staff to come circle back to your table but they were all very nice. The bill was $55 plus we tipped a lot since we liked it a lot. Thanks!!
Nice window views of River St. We had a lovely server, Sandy. Cornbread was incredible. For our meals we got the fried shrimp, muffaletta and Shrimp/Scallop pasta. All were well presented, just missing a bit of flavor. We ended with the Beignets which were warm and yummy. Also my family loved the praline dipping sauce. Felt like New Orleans. ⚜️ My mom also enjoyed the peach Long Island tea cocktail! A miss on the Caesar salad… lettuce was old and not ideal.
Overall an ok place to grab some dinner. Our server was stretched very thin but she did a lovely job. Ambiance is like a home pub, very casual with two tvs. At one point they did carry a trash can through the dining room which wasn’t great. They have outdoor sitting. Food: I had the catfish po boy which was a bit too salty and dry for my taste. A nice tartar sauce would have been nice. The rest of the table had the crab cake sandwich (very good), red beans and rice (good) and pasta pesto with chicken (very good). My Bloody Mary was very delicious and the catfish fingers were a great starter. Biggest sadness was not trying the beignets!

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit here! George welcomed us as soon as we came in, and he was very pleasant and helpful. Five stars for George! The food was excellent! It was served hot and fast, and we gobbled it up. We will definitely come back here again when we're in the area.
If you love toneat seafood, then it's a good place to try. It's a small restaurant with a great atmosphere and friendly service. We ordered shrimp poboy, fried shrimp and fish, shrimp, and fish tacos. All of them were tasty and delicious. The quantity of fried fish and shrimp was a bit smaller than I anticipated. The prices are okay. This restaurant has been featured on the Food Network as well. A small place with a good taste!
Highly disappointing, felt robbed of my $65! Extremely over hyped! Savannah, you've disappointed this culinary journalist. Should have listened to the gentleman by the bathroom that said it wasn't worth it. Yet, I like to give establishments the benefit of the doubt. The clam chowder had more of a soup like consistency, very watery and salty in taste, lacking any other flavors. Extremely disillusioned by the clam stripes, most of the plate was just fried batter clumps, in the picture you can clearly see the clamp stripes vs the rest of batter clumps. What a sham! The shack cone was made wrong by kitchen, and when it was mentioned to staff, they all had an attitude change, clumped up in a group and started looking at our table and snickering, extremely unprofessional but I guess when the management hires immature children to run an establishment that's the result. When the new chicken cone was brought, it was all cone and seemed like half a chicken strip cut into chunks. Another disappointment. The shrimp po' boy yet another disappointment, why you ask? Well, the menu description states overstuffed and what you get looks nothing like the image, NOTHING! Just look at the photo. The peel and eat shrimp had roughly 15 pieces and absolutely no flavor, not even a little dipping sauce is offered on side to dip shrimp into. Fooled me once...hope they don't fool you too. I'm sure there has to be better choices for seafood in Savannah.

It's in a nice part of town. Not congested. Good for big parties as well. We got to sit in the lower level. Felt really nice and private. I had the pork chop. Very tasty. They have seafood options as well. Decent drink menu service was a little slow but they were busy. Overall, a nice spot to grab dinner
Stop thinking about it and make sure to go here for lunch! Delicious sandwiches and other great food. We loved it! Outdoor seating, plus two levels of indoor seating and a bar. Don’t think they take reservations but it was quick to get a table (maybe 10 minutes). By the way, the drinks were delicious and our waitress was very nice. Plus it’s connected to a great coffee shop!!!
The Public Kitchen & Bar in Savannah, Georgia is a quaint establishment with very good food and drinks. The shrimp and grits were very well done— delicious sauce and full on flavor. My cocktail was well-mixed, but I can’t remember the name. The staff was friendly too. Was nice and quiet for lunch. I would return.

The Olde Pink House completely blew me away on my first visit! I’ve visited Savannah many times and I’ve heard so much about this place. When I finally was able to get a reservation and dined here, it more than lived up to the hype. Nestled in a stunning pink mansion, the atmosphere is like stepping into a piece of history, but with a modern twist that makes the whole experience feel exciting. I went with the fried chicken, and it was next-level amazing! Perfectly crispy, juicy, and full of flavor, it was the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Paired with mashed potatoes and collard greens, it was pure Southern comfort on a plate. Also wanted to give love to their biscuits since I haven’t seen others talk about it enough on here, they’re SO GOOD. I ordered extra to go! Since it was my first time, I’m so glad I made reservations in advance—this place gets busy, and for good reason! The staff made the experience even better, sharing stories about the house and making sure everything was perfect. It felt like more than just dinner; it was an unforgettable experience. If you’re visiting from out of town like I was, make sure The Olde Pink House is on your list, and definitely book your reservation ahead of time. It’s the kind of place that makes the trip totally worth it!
This is a must visit! Our waitress was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. I loved getting to chat with her! Food was some of the most delicious I’ve ever had, their biscuits are so soft and flavorful. Very creative drink menu with lots of options. She crab soup was delicious and had a hefty portion. Salmon was crispy, and the scallop and shrimp pasta was creamy and flavorful. Very historical house to walk through, patio was also a great place to sit. Highly recommend!
Service is very impressive from the doorman opening the door for you to the reception staff on down to the bussers and cleaning staff-ALL are Top Notch 5 star!!⭐️ Food is excellent! Equal to service in world class perfection! Fresh (never frozen) locally caught seafood prepared to perfection! Had the Crispy flounder -so yummy! Steak cooked exactly as ordered and delicious! Best restaurant I ate at during my stay. Price was not more than others that I ate at that had terrible food. Very Reasonable for 5 star food!! The building and dining rooms are beautifully maintained and presented. The staff was well versed and happy to share their knowledge of the building and the art therein. Loved the service!! Loved the food! Loved the ambiance!

Excellent experience! We got lucky and didn’t have a reservation, got seated right away. Very nice staff and waiter! Food was excellent! My wife got the pecan bourbon salmon and it was fresh and tasty! I got the grilled chicken and it was delicious, perfectly cooked! Not to mention the praline cheesecake was the perfect ending to our meal! Highly recommended!
River House is downtown on River Street directly across from the Savannah River. It’s in an old revitalized building that has been part of Savannah Historic District for ages. The food was good but not amazing; we had a fried shrimp plate and the Grouper with crab, mash potatoes, and asparagus. We also had the crab claw scampi dish. Unfortunately, we sent back because they were not fresh; the claws were hard and chewy. Perhaps a seasonal variety. The wine list was excellent with many choices. Overall, the experience was good but the price for 4 people would rival a high-end steak house. Would we return? It would be tough with so many other spots near to try without white table clothes and horrible parking.
The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was attentive and friendly. Fried Green Tomatoes: A standout dish! Perfectly crispy on the outside while maintaining a juicy and tangy interior. The accompanying sauce added a delightful kick, making it an absolute must-try. Catfish: Cooked to perfection, the catfish was tender and flavorful. The seasoning was just right, and it paired wonderfully with the side of hush puppies and coleslaw. A true Southern classic done right. French Onion Soup: Rich and savory, the French onion soup was a comforting bowl of goodness. The caramelized onions and melted cheese atop a slice of toasted bread created a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. Lobster and Crab: An indulgent treat! The lobster and crab were fresh and succulent, served with a delicious garlic butter sauce that enhanced the natural sweetness of the seafood. It was a luxurious dish that left us craving more. Desserts: Make sure to leave room for dessert! We tried the peach cobbler and the white chocolate coconut pie. The peach cobbler was warm and comforting, with a perfect balance of sweet and tart flavors. The white chocolate coconut pie was a delightful surprise, rich and creamy with a satisfying crunch from the coconut flakes.

As soon as we stepped in we saw all the amazing decor it was like we stepped back in time to an old yet modern bus station. The service and food were amazing. We were here to start our honeymoon, and our Server Ben met us with two glasses of champagne to congratulate us. He explained the menu and some of the history to us. Ben was probably the most attentive server I’ve ever had he kept the food coming and the drinks full. He congratulated us again at the end with a delicious dessert. And the surrounding staff were great, if you got up for something they immediately came and folded your napkin and refilled your drink. They ensued the cleanliness of the area at all times. And the food was amazing we had a felafel eggplant appetizer and a whole snapper entree that was more than enough for both of us. By far the best culinary experience we’ve had while being here in Savannah.
Dined here on 9/28/24. Sadly I had high hopes for this place and the reviews make you think otherwise. The service was okay and the decor beautiful but the food...... I was VERY disappointed. Not too mention the portions EXTREMELY SMALL and the price absurd, but food was literally (I mean literally) flavorless. I was shocked and appalled at such a lauded restaurant that's still delivering beautifully plated culinary trash. The worst sweetbreads I've ever had. Appetizers and mains came out at the same time. Oysters came out late and the fish was all bone, zero flesh. Would not recommend or return.
After watching a feature about The Grey on CBS Sunday Morning, we added The Grey to our destination restaurant list. Our dining experience lived up to the hype and exceeded our expectations. From the moment we checked in to the final bite, the service was impeccable, and the food was simply outstanding. The lamb was perfectly cooked, and the Mango Lunch cocktail was a delightful surprise. Every detail, including the valet service, was flawlessly handled. We highly recommend The Grey for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience.
