Best Restaurants Open for Christmas Dinner this year in Haines Junction – 2024

Excellent little place that we discovered during our stay in Haines Junction. We had breakfast here a few times and made it in time for dinner one night. Breakfast sandwiches, rolls, cookies, dessert bars, parfait, coffee, salads, lasagna, and ice cream are all excellent. The food was always fresh and made with quality ingredients; service was quick and efficient. Nice outdoor seating area. Make sure to check out the plates of day old cinnamon rolls in the morning for a great value. Prices for food are comparable to what you would see at Starbucks here in the states but quality is far better.

Went there couple years ago for a weekend getaway. Stopped by this bakery and deli shop. Was not disappointed at all. Cinnamon bun with walnuts was to die for! And freshly made sandwich from fresh bread. It had an amazing taste and flavour. I tried also tried hot beverage, hot chocolate. Must try!! Great variety of food/sandwiches to choose from.

One of the best coffee in the area. The smothie was nice and fresh. The date square were delicious, tasted good homemade dough. Seems like a very good bakery, I wish we were staying in the city for longer so we could try more if this tasty quiches, croissants and cakes!

SURPRISINGLY, a not-to-be-missed culinary experience! The elk sausage calzone and chicken, spinach, artichoke pastry puff were made in-house and OVER THE TOP delicious…as was the Beef Barley soup, chock full of veggies and tender beef. (these were only a few of the multiple choices). Mira and Ian were welcoming and helpful in aiding me in my decision making…which wasn’t easy! DON’T IGNORE THE STICKY BUNS!!! They are FANTASTIC! Thank you for giving us some of the best food we’ve had on our trip through Alaska and the Yukon!!!

The pulled pork sandwich was really good, bread was soft and meat was tender. Came back twice to get it - this is not your typical gas station food, they should open up a cafe!

A convenience store that sells coffee and soups

Awesome business with a little bit of whatever you could want. I was just passing through, but managed to find some medicine for the kids motion sickness. There is a gas station next door, but I recommend heading here for everything else you need after you fuel up.

Great store, friendly people and good selection of organic and fresh produce. The prices were a little bit high but totally fair and worth it. Grocery store was small, basically the same size as a convenience store. But they had lots of very unique items that are hard to find at even large grocery stores, which I appreciated. They also had freshly baked goods.

I love stopping here for high quality groceries on our way to and from Alaska. I often find organic and gluten-free foods. It's right on the Alcan, so very convenient, and so much nicer than going to the big box stores in Whitehorse.

Good spot for a post hike meal. Lots of craft beer options available. Would recommend Alaskan salmon burger with onion rings or vegetable medley fries. Fries were a bit greasy, but nothing to complain about since there aren’t many options in town for a hot meal.

We ate here several times as it is one of the few places to have dinner in Haines Junction. The food was always excellent and quickly prepared. Service was good even though they had pretty small crew each night. Burgers, sandwiches, taco salad, everything we tried was good and the views from the outdoor seating are excellent Prices are as expected for this area.

Good food, fast service. They have a large TV and outdoor area (that wasn't open when we visited). Kid said the honey garlic chicken wings were "best ever".

Felt like home cooked Canto dinner. Loved the ma po tofu. It was a pleasant surprise in the middle of nowhere. Super nice owners running shop. Huge portions. It was all I wanted after days of burgers and sandwiches.

Freshly cooked foods that will blow your mind. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed everything we had at Lucky Great stop for travellers for eats and rest. Thank you!

Great, friendly staff. Portions are very large and chicken balls are the best I've ever had.

A beautiful and informative building that celebrates the culture of the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations. You can also find a retail store that sells Indigenous arts and crafts, as well as separate information desks from the Yukon Government and Parks Canada.

It's clean and managed well. Interesting story and Information here. Just wonder why not many people come here, compared to Carcross.

Beautiful facility with tons of information, artifacts, art pieces and exhibits. The kluane interpretive center was also very cool to walk around. This felt better than some paid museums I've been to - 100% worth the stop.

Great location outside of town. Fun road trip pit stop on your way to/from town, or even just for a memorable meal. Food and service were both amazing. Everyone was super friendly. Can even purchase gas here, if needed.

Amazing burger! Try the south of the border burger, it’s excellent. Great vibe inside, and very good service. It might be the only stop around, but it’s very good. Great pie too, lots of interesting flavours. Peanut butter pie was to die for.

You must stop there for a meal if you're ever in the area! Fabulous, delicious home cooked meals, great service. We ate there a couple of times last year. A year later, the lady who served us then remembered us! That is such a feel good feeling. Awesome home fries! The tastiest eggs I've had in a long time. Incredible desserts! The atmosphere is cozy, warm, and friendly. There's also some neat surprises to peek your interest while dining. Loads of conversation pieces... And if you love dogs, be mindful of the house dog... If you throw the stick once, you're in it for at least an hour... And he will remember you whenever you come back
