Best Restaurants Open for Christmas Dinner this year in York – 2024

Came in 2nd time in a week. Boss wanted to. Not given water with the biscuits. Ordered calamari, real chewy like bubble gum. Ordered the pound of crab legs. Came out Luke warm. Like they were already cooked and re-steamed. Cops came in for a belligerent customer. Almost dinner and a movie. Thank God no active shooter. Never asked if wanted dessert. Stopped at Dairy Queen.

Attempted to dine in, waited over 2 hrs for fried food. I ended up leaving. The place wasn't that full either. Attempted to door dash this location as well. I ended up with raw unseasoned broccoli,and unevenly cooked fish. I will never order door dash or visit this location again,also I ordered bacon Mac&Cheese as u can see there is no bacon.

We were seated in the back alone . After finally got a great waiter things went fine. We had of course the Lobster Fest, 2 Maine lobster tails n sides. Hubby had 2 Blue Moons. I had a Sunset Pineapple Colada yummy. Garrett was our waiter n very cordial.

I had an excellent experience. The food and service were outstanding, and our waiter Cailey was incredibly attentive despite being the sole server at that time. She managed everything well. We also sampled the Margarita mix, which was delightful. I would definitely return.

First time and won’t be last. Luci was our server and she was very friendly and provided excellent service. My wife loved the tacos and the steak burrito I got was amazing for only $13. It was huge and filled with all fresh ingredients. Will definitely be back with more family members to show them this place. Great job!

We were passing through, and decided to find a local brewery. So glad we stopped here! Beers are all brewed here, and it’s excellent. We didn’t eat, just had an appetizer, which was delicious. It’s the staff, though, that makes it even better! So attentive and friendly, if we lived here this would be our place to go.

Food was amazing. We just got burgers, but dang they were yummy! The fries are like steak fries kindof, and are just perfect. This was a spur of the moment little lunch date with my daughter and I. We will definitely be returning with the rest of the family!!! Waitress wasn't the friendliest, but we had another girl helping us too. It was Friday at 130pm and we were the only guests besides one other elderly couple. I was surprised that I had to sit without a refill on my root beer for so long. The waitress wasn't busy. The waitress had a small attitude which sucked. Overall it was nice! We will go back. Fingers crossed we get a different server

We stopped in for lunch last week and the tables around us in our section had dirty dishes piled up from the night before . The food was average at best. We were underwhelmed overall. We added a pizza to go and an onion ring "platter" before realizing it would be a mistake. The pizza came in a big box but looked like a personal size to me and was not very good. The $10 platter of onion rings were soggy and contained 7 rings. I spent almost $100 with tip and won't be returning.

We stopped in for a beer or 2, and maybe something to eat. They have a new menu. She tried the fried Pickles (her Favorite) and she said they were the best she has ever had. Not too thin, and crispy. I tried the chicken Sizzling Fajitas which were some of the best I've ever had, from the West Coast to Mexico to the Caribbean, they were as good, if not better, than all the rest, seriously, did not expect that. The bar tender was quick and positive. It reflected in her tip. Great place to stop in. Great food, no tudes.

Easily the best breakfast I've ever had. I usually go for sweets like pancakes but decided to try something savory my first visit here. So happy I made that decision!

Wednesday breakfast at 8:45am and the place was practically empty. Gave four stars because it took a bit to order because the server is also the cook and potentially the owner and was getting a food delivery all at the same time. Still, some people think this place is expensive. I think that the food makes it worth the price. Breakfast food is excellent. Server/potential owner is polite and welcoming.

Waited too long to finally have a meal here. Their hours are a bit restricted but if you’re looking for an exquisitely delightful menu they won’t disappoint. The Crab Rangoon was delicious, although I didn’t find the dipping sauce to be in my favor, I think most people would enjoy it. The host suggested a chili sauce which I will definitely do the next time we visit. The food all came quickly, perfectly plated and prepared and the staff were genuinely pleasant. We will definitely be back to try the breakfast soon!

Sweet potato soup, roasted chicken on a bed of stuffing with gravy, steak fries and pickled beets for around $14. They also have PA wine and beer. Perfect food, excellent service.

Love this diner. The wait staff are always kind and personable. The food is great, and you can usually get out of here for breakfast for about $20 for two!

Very good overall diner experience! Large restaurant with plenty of parking. Saturday afternoon around 1:30pm and there was still a 5-10 min wait... popular place! Lots of people coming in and out. Hostess did a nice job getting us seated. Menu is huge and there's daily specials. So many options! Food was delicious, portions were large and prices were reasonable. Homemade muffins! (the muffins were actually a little under-baked... but hopefully better next time). Been looking for a go-to diner after mountain biking Rocky Ridge and we'll definitely be back!

Great options located in The Central Market in York, Pa. Paw paws, blended drinks, sandwich combinations with a choice of Brie. On the side they offer a blueberry chipotle sauce to drizzle on and apple butter.

I am still eating my quesadilla and had to get online to leave a review. This is by far the best quesadilla I’ve ever had. Delicious!!! All white tender chicken. This is unbelievable. Easiest 5 star review I’ve given!

The owners are so personable and caring! I’ve been coming here for at least seven years! I haven’t been this loyal to my right hand!! Asian veggie tacos and spicy sweet potato tacos are my absolute FAVORITE and I don’t even like spicy foods and these are HOT. They constantly update their menu to cater to freshly available farm sourced organic ingredients!

VERY slow service. Once our food came out, we didn't see the server for over 30 minutes. They were walking past us repeatedly while serving other tables, but not even glancing our way. Never got any refills of water (only the first small glass they brought out before we ordered), and didn't get the condiments we asked for either. And we were there well before any of the other tables they were serving, and it was not particularly busy either. No idea what the problem was, but one star for the food and the service is generous.

Love the food here,the chicken waffle sliders were awesome and so was the watermelon salad. The burger was pretty good too. Prices are good, service was good, atmosphere was great.

The food was delicious. The service, not so great. The appetizer was brought out after our meal was already on the table. We also ordered a second round of drinks before our meals came out and he tried to serve them to us after we were done eating. We sent those back.

Had the $5.95 steak. You get what ya pay for. Was cooked correctly but meat was tough. Sides were good tho. Ive had other things in past that were better. Love that food is affordable :) Service wasn't bad but definitely need to add another server on as it gets busy. It is smoking place. Not bad if not busy but even in dining room if you don't like smoke it isn't the place for ya. It gets bad

The food is amazing here. The smoke may bother some since it is a smoking allowed environment but the ambiance and pricing has been the same since the 50’s which makes it a landmark here in York. I can’t stress the food for the price where can you go for 2 steak dinners that are as good as longhorn or outback for $20 bucks. Seafood breakfast dinner have never been disappointed. Bring cash no cards but an atm inside .

Iron Horse York 11-9-24 I have never here when I lived in York but was back for a reunion and I had to try it. Arrived about 1:20pm and the place was not that busy. It was neat, clean, and well-lit with large windows on the outer walls. The interior has a cool vibe and looks great. Our waitress Madison came over and got our drink orders and food orders fast. I ordered the Mortadella Cuban Sandwich. This sandwich Pork, Mortadella, Swiss Cheese, Pickles, Mustard, served with Onion Gravy. It comes with your choice of Fries or Salad. I ordered the Salad for a side. I also ordered a Miller Lite Beer for a drink. My wife ordered the Steak Salad with Mixed Greens, Tomatoes, Red Onions, Cucumbers, Gorgonzola Cheese, and Sirloin Steak with Balsamic Vinaigrette and a Caught in The Rain drink. This drink had Rumhaven, Coconut Rum, Orange, and pineapple Juice with Coconut Cream. Our drinks came out first and my Beer was ice cold, I loved it. My wife’s drink was cold and very tasty, we both loved her drink. Our food came out a short time later and my sandwich and Salad looked amazing. My wife's salad filled her entire plate. My sandwich was hot and very tasty. The Onion Gravy took it to the next level. My wife's Steak Salad was very good and the Steak was done to her liking. Our waitress Madison checked on us a bunch of times as she was on the top of things. I must give this place 5 out of 5 stars because the food was good, the service was good, and the beer was cold. My dinner was amazing.. I had the grass fed ribeye it was cooked to perfection… The flavor was amazing. It was herb butter and caramelized onions. The red skinned potatoes came with it and a delicious side salad…. I also had one of their fresh made pizzas which was really good fresh mozzarella crispy thin crust delicious… Then I killed the New York cheesesteak and this other peanut butter thing and cinnamon churro dessert, which I will be taking home… Service was high-quality, very friendly and courteous.. If you are downtown York PA this place is a must stop

The ambiance of the restaurant was truly inviting and set the stage for a wonderful dining experience. The menu offered a delightful selection of dishes, each prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Our server was attentive and provided excellent recommendations. From the appetizer to the dessert, every course was bursting with flavor. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable meal.

Very good restaurant overall - the food was very good and the atmosphere was great. It was low key and had beautiful outside areas with beautiful views. I got the fish tacos as my main dish and it was delicious. The main reason why I gave it 4 stars and not 5 was because the drinks are very weak, and the service was a little slow at times. But it's overall a very nice restaurant and nice atmosphere.

My husband and I ate here last Thursday evening. It did take a while to be seated. I have limited mobility and was taken downstairs to be seated inside. It did take a while to order beverages and more time to order food. It was Happy Hour and was very noisy and busy. We started with bang bang shrimp. It was good little spicy . My husband had the stuffed flounder with crab it was good came with risotto and green beans. He enjoyed his meal. It came in good time. I had the skirt steak which was cooked perfectly came with mashed potatoes with a demi glaze and green beans. My meal was very tasty. We also took a cheeseburger with fries home for our son. It looked good.

Stopped in during brunch on Sunday. They had a decent brunch menu including $2 mimosas! I got a chef salad which was delicious. The view is always gorgeous on the patio as it overlooks Heritage Hills Golf Course. Great place to enjoy outdoor dining!
