Best Restaurants Open for Christmas Dinner this year in Whitehorse – 2024

Truly the best food in Whitehorse! We got NY steak, wings, tandoori pizza, and the hot burger. They were all superb. It is totally worth the drive out! Or stay in the camps here, also lovely!

We had the deep-fried platter and were surprised at how good the quality of the items were. We were expecting standard cheap frozen items but these were really tasty. (Probably purchased frozen still, but I don't really care if they are good) The burger was also a nice spiced and flavoured party with lots of toppings. Overall quite impressed, the place definitely exceeded the expectations we had for the "simple" burger and deep fried platter.

It’s been a year for me eating their late-night menu. The food and environment are okay, but one thing I always notice is that they never offer any Kleenex, napkins to clean hands, or water to drink. These are things we have to ask for if needed, which I find kind of weird. I'm not sure if they provide the same type of service during daytime hours, but I genuinely feel these small and very basic things should matter, especially when they are in the hospitality business.

A secret hideaway with the most authentic Indian food available. The staff are friendly, inviting and very proficient at explaining dishes you may not have heard about. I had a staple, butter chicken, it was fresh and very flavourful. We also had the coconut chilli and the flavours popped. If you want an excellent experience in Whitehorse, this is the place

There aren't many Indian restaurant options in whitehorse, so this has to be the one that could be your go-to place. Food and service are decent. Prices are typical whitehorse restaurant prices (on the higher side). Portion sizes could be more for the prices they charge. Also, they mention that you get a free desert when posting a Google review, but we didn't get any despite talking to the server. Their rasmalai is the Brars one which you get in Walmart, and the price is very high for that when served in the restaurant, doesn't make sense. But overall, good food. Give it a try once for sure.

I wish I could’ve given zero star this place is extremely dusty , tables are not cleaned I went for dinner with my wife ordered the samosa plate its was watery , too sweet and tangy I have never ever seen a dish like that it’s not suppose to be submerged into the water / gravy the service is slow waited 15 minutes to talk to the server the Indian staff she was extremely rude she started saying why did you had more than half me and my wife we just had two spoons each very bad services slow - small portions- dirty I would avoid this restaurant. NEVER COMING BACK HERE PLEASE ACCEPT THE CUSTOMER FEEDBACK IN A POSITIVE WAY AND TRY TO IMPROVE. ADDED REPLY AFTER SEEING THE BUSINESS OWNER REVIEW. The reason I ordered the take out because the server said I need to buy more food since we asked to take back the samosa plate ( small portion - full of water - cold - Soggy - no flavour - I felt if I eat more I will get food poisoning ) it doesn’t matter how much percentage food I ate as per my knowledge and picture posted as a prof I only had 20 % as per the picture the food remaining on the main and small plate. The girl in the first who took the order Indian girl wearing all black was sweet and friendly and that’s the only reason I left TIP I know how hard the kitchen staff work and I want to appreciate there effort, This restaurant is very argumentative, the main server wearing fancy uniform was extremely rude blaming on me as if I am lying kept on saying 50 % food gone and after listening my feedback about the item she was saying that I don’t know what I am ordering . PLEASE ACCEPT THE FEEDBACK IN A POSITIVE WAY YOU JUST LOST A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS PLACE , dirty I meant the floor - table - walls entrance.

Ordered the Cajun Chicken and Shrimp pasta and spaghetti. The food had a beautiful presentation and then the flavors exploded in my mouth of happiness! The pasta dishes both was delicious and definitely a secret sauce the family must know. The owners are beyond kind and generous spoke with everyone to ensure the experience was nothing less than wonderful. Thank you for the enjoyable dinner tonight. Oh my daughter also had the Chocolate Lava cake and she said she wanted to lick the plate!

Negroni? Good. Cesar salad? Really good. Bourbon steak? Inedible. Nothing but gristle. The picture shows the gristle and if you put it together, it's about the same size as it was when I got it. Seriously, do NOT order this. The staff is great.

I came over from Canada’s Best Value Inn down the street and ended up staying at the sternroller hotel. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality food at Tony’s. I ate dinner last night and they were quick, friendly, and accommodating. Not only that but the food was amazing! I didn’t do any research on the hotel so was sure if there’d be breakfast in the morning. To my surprise Tony’s was open for breakfast too! Again they were quick, friendly, and accommodating. And again, the food was delicious. Harsh was particularly helpful and welcoming, making me feel like I was the only customer at the restaurant! After this time, I knew I had to leave a review. Highly recommended!

The Bison Pot Pie was phenomenal, and the waiter took very good care of us. I highly recommend this place if you're in Whitehorse and need a bite to eat. Doesn't break the bank either.

As a visitor from Alberta in town to attend meetings, I was very pleased with the level of service and the quality of food I ate. I had the Halibut fish and chips with chef-made cole slaw and tartar sauce. All of it was done very well with the fish properly cooked that tasted great. The breaded covering on the deep fried fish was tasty and not saturated with grease. Good job Chef. Kudos to Micah to serving our table of 8 promptly and efficiently. Keep up the great service.

The customer service was excellent and food was delicious. Went in morning for breakfast, got eggs Benedict with bacon and the breakfast bagel. Both were delicious!! We were happy to find a good breakfast spot after all. Highly recommend!

Ribs, chicken, coleslaw, fries, draft beer, waitresses fast, efficient and so kind. A Must Visit when in Whitehorse!! Sorry no pics of the inside, we were busy devouring our dinner

Food was tasty. Its difficult because it’s a hit or miss with the meat- not super consistent. Usually briskets good but it was a bit dry this time. Amazing ribs and yummy tater tot trash can! Such a huge portion there was so much left over (see photo)

Had an amazing experience! I ordered the beef burrito (no sides). It was really tasty and mild on the heat (even though I ordered medium spice level). My husband had the flank steak - cooked perfectly. We shared the guacamole and it was super smooth and garlicky. Servers were extremely attentive and friendly. Can't wait to go back.

If you are craving for some authentic Mexican cuisine, this is the place! The staffs were friendly and helpful. Food was more enjoyable out in the patio. A sparrow was trying to snatch our nachos. Their portions weren’t generous but just enough to feel stuffed. They have specials written on the whiteboard, so make sure you check it out. They do not take Amex.

Pretty good Mexican food for a restaurant this far north. The decor is fun with a large selection of Mexican curios adorning the walls. The ambiance is fun, and very loud. Not a good place for a date, you will have to shout in order to be heard. They have a nice selection of food on the menu. I had the halibut. It was done well and I enjoyed it. The black beans were also done well and topped with a cheese. The salad was fresh. Some things to know 1) they don't bring you chips and salsa (I've been to hundreds of Mexican restaurants and this is normal for sit down restaurants, not sure why sanchez doesn't) 2) the waitress switched 3x on us and was very slow to take our order 3) they don't bring you tortillas standard with your meal. Most Mexican restaurants will always bring you tortillas. This was slightly disappointing.

Great service and good selection of menu options. I had the sweet potato fries with an aioli dip and a house salad with chicken. My partner had the beef dip. Both were very good and the good value. Service was excellent. Good place for casual dinning and family.

Ash was very friendly & professional which made for a delightful dining experience! The Nutella Waffles were exactly the sweet hit I wanted. Love that they serve breakfast dishes until 4PM :)

Quiet little spot with a nice variety of breakfast options. Jasmeet was our server and she made sure we were taken care of. The loaded hash browns and apple cinnamon waffle were super fun and delicious.

So happy to have found Pickapeppa in Whitehorse. Noticed the colourful sign, read a friend’s review and finally found it open. Got the jerk chicken meal with salad and rice, such generous portions plus a delicious homemade ginger beer. We had to try the Rotis too, so brought some home for today’s lunch (chickpea, eggplant and jerk chicken). Can’t wait!!!! I highly recommend Pickapepper….

Started with the mango smoothie which was very refreshing especially in this summer season! For the main entree we ordered the spicy fish which hit the spot! The salad and fish was fresh and the rice is full of flavor and heavenly!! The beef curry was also good and very tender. We had the honor to meet the Master Chef Andrea and she makes everything with so much affection which shines through the wonderful flavors she is bringing to everyone. They also have a fun table that showcases the visitors from all over the world- so when you stop by make sure to bring currency from your hometown to continue this fun tradition! A must try when visiting Whitehorse!

They say chicken soup is good for the soul, in Whitehorse it's Pickapeppa! This place is a Whitehorse Gem, that's worthy of your attention and business. Owners Andrea and David work hard to earn your business! Coming here feels more like hanging out at a friend's house and getting served a delicious home cooked Caribbean meal! When you support this restaurant you most definitely feel you are supporting local. You will be treated to warm smiles, a nice diverse menu with veggie options, great table service, as well as a nice assortment of drinks and desserts to choose from. Our group had the homemade mango smoothie (which was absolutely amazing and made me feel like I was at the beach), we also had the jerk chicken, fried plantains, Jamaican patty, curry chickpea, and Jamaican rum balls for dessert. Everything was so flavourful, and the portions were generous. Through out the restaurant there are hints of Jamaica (nice art work, bright colours) which help rid away the winter blues. If you can manage some stairs to get into the restaurant, and want to support a solid local business this is a great place to be. I suggest making reservations ahead of time.

I like the eggs Benny options. There was only 1 portion of bannock available when we ordered the blackstone or you'd get another star. I appreciate adding fruit as an option. I'm curious because, it tastes like half fresh half canned otherwise great sub for their hashbrowns. Can you please check in with the cooks? One of them needs to stop overloading your hashbrowns with table salt. The breakfast a couple weeks ago, made my tongue raw from the amount of salt the cook covered them in. I never leave hashbrowns on my plate but they were absolutely ruined so I couldn't eat them. Otherwise, thanks, good as always.

The Salmon Eggs Benedict was by far the best eggs benny I've ever had, had to go back later in the week and order it again.

The food was great as always but the service was a little lacking. They were very busy for their lunch rush so with that in mind the 15 minute wait to get a table was reasonable; however we got our coffee and only one offer of a top up 5 mins later, but nothing else for the duration of the meal.

Your typical Mexican restaurant has the usual stuff, but it's still popular as there aren't many options in Whitehorse for Mexican food. Prices are higher, like usual for a Whitehorse restaurant. Portion size is good enough for 1 person, and food tastes good. Service was a bit slow as the restaurant was busy but the waitress did her best. No complaints. Try them out.

Family of six from Florida. We could smell the deliciousness from the street. Walking in, you have a choice of take out or dine in. We sat down to eat in. Our waiter was excellent. Very attentive and super friendly. Probably the most respectful waiter I've ever had. We all ordered tacos. And soft drinks. I recommend the fountain soft drinks because they have free refills. We ordered one chips and salsa. The chips were much like what you'd get at the grocery store. The salsa was good. The food came out super fast. Refills for drinks were timely without having to ask. Total price after tax and tip was $184.

I came here with my parents and my 6-month-old baby, and the place had a really welcoming vibe, even for babies. Our server, Anika, was very helpful and professional. We tried the Flora tacos and nachos, and loved the nachos. The portion size of the nachos was generous. The best part was that they had an eggless dessert on the menu called Carlota, which was delicious.
